BA2b♥Cross-Course Collaboration♥Cube

12:02

At the beginning of BA2b, we took part in a cross course collaboration with Fine Art in which we were to create a video featuring an object (either digital or physical) relating to an image. The image our group were given was that of a cube in the sand, and we immediately went to brainstorm ideas.

After playing around with concepts (as well as discussing when to fit it in surrounding everyone's Interchange activities), we decided to go with the concept of environmental cubes, in which we would all look for cubes in the world around us (enabling us to do work even when we weren't able to meet up together). We took multiple images of each environmental cube in quick succession then strung them together to make a blocky, rough kind of movement to the video.

We also decided to overlay a roughly digitally drawn cube as our focus object; however, we wanted the cube to act as a frame to help the viewer pick out the cubes we'd found in the environment, rather than be the main focus.

Overall, I think this project went OK. It was quite difficult to organise due to the overlap between the collaboration and Interchange and the short time schedule we had, and some group members contributed less to the project than others, but it was nice to be able to associate with people outside of our course for once.
