BA2b♥Collaborative Game Project♥Uninstall Weeks 3-4

13:41

During these weeks I worked further on sprites for the run and jump cycles. I tried to keep these as simple as possible while still running smoothly enough to be able to tell the character was moving, as well as making the animation loop as smoothly as possible (which was actually very difficult as you can't really see the legs of the character very well).

I also added a little bit more expression to the jump sprites from my initial plans as recommended by Marisa who is also part of my team.

I also worked on an idea for a 'data coin' for the game, a collectible item which would give the player points as they progress. I tried to keep it consistent with things like the logo and file items so that the style would be consistent. However, this proved difficult as I ended up adding too much detail into the design, and even after trying to tone it down it didn't look right shrunk to the scale it needed to be in the game, which was a mistake on my behalf for not really thinking about it and planning in enough detail earlier. The job of redesigning the coin was eventually passed on to another team member.
I also recommended music sites to the member in charge of the audio since I was able to find quite a large amount of sites with free use music froming research into Japanese indie games. Since a lot of games in RPGMaker or short visual novels are made by single people or small teams, not all of them have original music, so I was able to find the following music and sfx sites from researching. Most of them are Japanese-language, but allow users to use music in their non-commercial projects.
