BA3B ♪ RHYTHM OF THE GODS ♪ WEEK 4

This week consisted of continuing the string of attack animations for me. The third and final attack animation was a spinning or side attack, which proved very difficult to animate due to the small size of the sprite. We also had very unusual weather this week, which meant that we couldn't be in every single day due to snow, so the team communicated via Discord while working to keep up the atmosphere and motivation that working together in the studio gave us.



I started off by doodling the general direction of the frames before pixelling them in.


Initially, this was supposed to show the character sliding on their knees while hitting enemies, but I felt this didn't work and went back to fix it.
I changed it so the character would be standing up but leaning quite far back during the last frames, and I thought this worked a lot better.



I added the sword and shield and some smears to make it more fluid.
Although I felt like this sprite was successful in itself, I feel that it doesn't look as good as the other attack sprites in-game, so I feel that this is probably a sprite that I will go back and redo later in the project.
