I moved on to create my model sheet, which proved difficult due to the size of the timepiece itself. It was difficult to add the gears and clock hands in the same positions each time, and viewing the small details became very difficult due to the scale of it in comparison with the land mass that functions as the 'base' of the timepiece.

I started by deciding how I wanted the composition of my final piece by doing very rough thumbnails.

From these, I decided that I wanted to use the last one, where it looks as if the viewer is looking down on the timepiece and the clouds can be seen below, giving the effect that the timepiece is high in the sky.

I found it very difficult to follow the model sheet while doing my final piece, as placing the gears and clock hands still proved difficult.
