Although I am happy with how the sheet looks, I feel like the images of the insect in motion could have been a bit more dynamic, and less like a diagram; this would help show the attitude and behaviour of the insect more accurately.

 

 

I began to work on the final concept painting for this character, starting with a simple sketch to paint over. I wanted to show the insect in its natural habitat, as a predator, so I decided to depict it in the act of catching prey. I thought that a small insect like a firefly would be suitable for it to eat, and the glow from the firefly would provide interesting lighting.
